Biography of Pat Diewold
I am a Registered Psychologist in the Province of British Columbia and a member of the Canadian Psychological Association. I have more than thirty-five years experience in the field of clinical psychology, and during that period have worked with people of all age groups and many different needs.

In work at Pine Winds Center my expertise and broad experience give another dimension to the work we are able to do here. I am able to provide valuable input into the assessments and ongoing work with recovery clients here. I am also able to help in planning for re-entry into society in the educational and career areas. I work with my husband as a co-therapist in work with couples, families and some of the groups we run here.

Brief Summary of Past Experience

For more than thirty-three years I worked at Vancouver General Hospital and concurrently had a private practice. In both hospital work and private practice I was engaged in psychological assessments and/or psychotherapy. I have worked with people with depressions of varying severity, with much anxiety from varying sources, with psychotic illnesses, and with neurological diseases and deficits due to brain injuries or strokes or dementias. I have worked with the geriatric population extensively. I have also worked with children and families for many years in private practice, and at the Child Guidance Clinic in Calgary in the past. I have worked with adults and children with learning disabilities. I was the psychologist for the Work Adjustment Program at Vancouver General Hospital and this program helped people get ready for employment after major psychiatric or physical illnesses. I have also worked with people with gender identity disorders and with hospital patients with various physical illnesses and disabilities. I have done many assessments of adolescents and adults who have had criminal charges against them.

Since retiring from Vancouver General Hospital in August of 2002, I have been involved in the development of the facilities here at Pine Winds Center. I take great pleasure in working with people who have difficulties of all kinds, and rejoice when I see significant improvement which will prepare the way for a more fulfilling life in the future. It is my pleasure to aid that process with all of the skills I possess.
